Growth in the Jena Alliance for Families

17.11.2021

The Jena Alliance for Families is delighted to welcome three new alliance partners

  • Hospice Jena
  • DAKO Jena
  • H&K facilities

In addition to these new partners, the Alliance is also delighted to have two more companies and Alliance partners certified with the Jena Family Seal:

Firstly, the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, which has achieved its first re-certification, and secondly, the company ZEISS, which has been awarded the Family Seal for the first time.

Both partners offer their employees extensive family-friendly measures.

"In recent years, both Friedrich Schiller University Jena and ZEISS have continuously expanded their offerings in order to achieve a better work-life balance for their employees. This includes, for example, providing their own childcare facilities as well as various offers in the area of work-life balance and company health management. In addition, both offer comprehensive flexible family-friendly working time models. The award of the Jena Family Seal is therefore a well-deserved distinction," explains Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, Lord Mayor and member of the Board of Trustees of the Jena Alliance for Families.

Background

The Jena Family Seal is an initiative of the "Jena Alliance for Families". The alliance, a cooperation of over 70 partners from business, science, administration and other social groups, aims to put families at the center of social, economic and political interest and to work together continuously to improve the living conditions of families in the city of Jena and the compatibility of family and career in the long term.

Together with the Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Jena mbH and the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena, the family seal is awarded to family-friendly companies in Jena.

Interested parties express their interest in receiving the Jena Family Seal by submitting a letter of motivation. You will receive a questionnaire that assesses the current state of family friendliness in your company. Based on the results of the questionnaire, an on-site visit to the company and a joint workshop with representatives of the jury, the company management and the staff and works council will then take place. The seal is awarded for two years, after which a re-certification takes place, provided that the company successfully undergoes another audit. After two successful re-certifications, a company can receive the premium seal for three years.
