Guided walk along the water axis in Winzerla

10.05.2022

The urban development department and the Winzerla district office invite you to take a walk along the water axis in Jena-Winzerla at the start of the "water season". The background, stories and anecdotes about the works of art will be told. It starts on Friday, 13.05.2022, at 14:00 at the Sibylle fountain below Schrödingerstraße.

There is a lot to tell, as the water axis has developed into a small open-air art museum over the last 15 years. Between the raftsman sculpture by Detlef Reinemer at the eastern beginning of the water axis to the travertine work "Quelle und Strudel" (Spring and Whirlpool) by Stefan Wengler at the western end of the green axis, nine very different works of art are lined up here, all of which have a connection to the theme of "water". Each has its own exciting history.

Coffee and cake - please register in advance

The walk will take around two hours. Participation is free of charge. Coffee and cake will be served along the way. In order to better plan the catering, please register at the Winzerla district office(0049 3641 354570/ info@winzerla.com) or at the urban development department(0049 3641 49-5201/ fd-stadtentwicklung@jena.de).
