Help for homeless people
Protecting homeless people is particularly important in winter temperatures. The city provides information about existing offers of help:
Emergency accommodation (overnight stay):
- For women and families:
Emergency shelter Theobald-Renner-Straße 71, admission from 20:00 hrs.
- For men:
Emergency shelter Am Steiger 4, admission from 19:30 hrs.
(Please report to the security staff.)
Prevention services
There are also housing and homelessness support and prevention services, including
- Support for involuntarily homeless men, women and families,
- Prevention services for families with underage children, young adults up to the age of 27 and older people aged 60 and over,
- Outreach street social work for homeless people over the age of 27.
The city asks the public to pay attention: if you notice people who need help in the cold, please do not hesitate to inform the relevant authorities at obdachlos@jena.de or call the emergency services on 112.
