How Jena voted in the Bundestag elections

All votes cast have been counted and the preliminary final result for the city of Jena is available. The voter turnout in Jena was 80.4 percent (cf. 20217: 78.9%) . Of 81,259 eligible voters, 65,328 cast their ballots. Among them, 31,777 (48.6%) were voters with a ballot paper. 8Of the 31,777 voters with ballot paper, 31,519 (48.2% in terms of voters) actually voted via postal ballot. 258 voters with a ballot paper voted by handing in their ballot paper at the polling station.

Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche thanks the election helpers for the smooth running of the election day and evening: "A successful, correct and neutral conduct and evaluation of the election would be unthinkable without the many voluntary helpers from the citizenry. The cooperation in elections is an essential cornerstone of our civil society and of central importance for our democracy.
