Important information on local public transport in Jena
The trade union ver.di has called on employees of Jena's local public transport and JES Verkehrsgesellschaft to go on a warning strike. The strike action has been announced for the period from Monday, February 2, 3 am to Tuesday, February 3, 3 am.
As a result, regular bus and streetcar services will no longer be possible in the city of Jena and the Saale-Holzland district. It can be assumed that all scheduled streetcar and bus services in the city of Jena and the Saale-Holzland district will be canceled during this period. This will also affect school transport.
An emergency timetable can be set up in the Saale-Holzland district, which can be viewed on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-jena.de/streik-jnv. In the city of Jena, only the call-and-collect cab services shown in the timetable can be offered.
Schools in the city of Jena and the Saale-Holzland district have already been informed about the strike and the resulting disruption to local transport services.
Passengers are asked to prepare for the travel disruptions in good time. Once the strike action has ended, scheduled services will resume. Even then, cancellations and delays are still possible due to the delays in operations.
As far as possible during the strike action, the transport companies will endeavor to keep the timetable information in the route planner at www.nahverkehr-jena.de and in the MeinJena app up to date at all times. Passengers can also find real-time information on the dynamic passenger information systems at the stops.
The Stadtwerke Jena Customer Center at Saalstraße 8a is also likely to be affected by the strike action. For the duration of the strike, there will be no ticket sales and no advice on local transport services.
Jenaer Nahverkehr and JES Verkehrsgesellschaft ask for your understanding for the restrictions.
