Information event: Reusable packaging compulsory from 2023

On 01.11.2022, the city of Jena will provide information from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the historic town hall about the content of the upcoming reusable offer obligation as well as about solutions and common reusable systems. The event is aimed at all interested restaurateurs.

The obligation to offer reusable containers in the catering sector in accordance with the Packaging Act will apply from 01.01.2023. All catering businesses such as restaurants, snack bars and caterers will then be obliged to offer reusable containers as an alternative to disposable containers. Small businesses must make it possible to fill containers brought in by customers. The obligation to offer reusable containers is intended to reduce the amount of packaging waste and thus protect the environment.
