Publication of the candidates for the local elections

All approved nominations for the local elections on 26.05.2019 have now been published.

283 people have put themselves forward in 9 lists for the city council. There are 273 candidates for the 30 district councils. A total of 57 Jena residents want to become district mayors.

The dates can be found in the official gazette.

Eligible voters who are entered in the electoral roll will receive a polling card by 05.05.2019 at the latest.

Notes on the electoral roll

The electoral roll for the elections can be viewed during general opening hours at the postal voting office of the City of Jena (Löbdergraben 12, 2nd floor, 07743 Jena)from 06.05. to 10.05.2019.Any person entitled to vote who considers the electoral roll to be incorrect or incomplete may raise objections to the electoral roll during this period.

Postal voting can be applied for

• In person during the opening hours of the post office, but no later than 24.05.2019, 18:00 - this is also where the postal voting documents will be posted
• Online until 23.05.2019
• Using the form on the back of the election notification letter

The postal ballot letter must be returned to the electoral authority of the city of Jena by 18:00 on election day.
