The InselplatzCampus can come - the island is saved!

At a joint press conference, the residents of Inselplatz 9a and Mayor Christian Gerlitz presented an amicable solution: The "Carl August" in Mühltal will become the new home of the islanders - housing and events included. The property will be leased to the island by the State Development Corporation of Thuringia (LEG). The city of Jena is interested in exchanging the site of the former restaurant for the district of Weimarer Land.

This means that the new campus of Friedrich Schiller University Jena can come. Nothing stands in the way of construction work starting at the beginning of 2020. Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee also supported the solution.
