Jena City Council votes unanimously in favor of the East Thuringia control centre network
At its meeting, the Jena City Council unanimously approved the draft "Special-purpose agreement on cooperation between the control centers for rescue services, fire departments and disaster control and the prospective establishment of a control center network with the city of Gera".
This clears the way for the joint large-scale project. For Eastern Thuringia, the aim is to network the control centers in Jena and Gera in order to create a model region for sustainable control center operations in Thuringia. This step will ensure the service quality of the control centers and enable new challenges - such as the switch to digital radio - to be better mastered.
Jena's Head of Finance Benjamin Koppe praised the state of Thuringia for the rapid implementation of the funding guideline. The cooperation with Gera's mayor Kurt Dannenberg was excellent. Further concrete steps can now follow soon.
