New closures / obstructions

Ernst-Abbe-Platz

• Duration: 20.06. - 30.08.2024
• Reason: Extensive construction work in the track area
• Details: Crossing facilities will be set up for pedestrians.

Kahlaische Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: House numbers 64-68 and from the junction with Beutenbergstraße to house number 46
• Duration: 20.06. - 31.07.2024 (summer vacation)
• Reason: Media relocation in the sidewalk area by Stadtwerke Jena
• Details: The road must serve as an emergency footpath and as a construction site facility for the work to be carried out. The outbound lane is part of the construction site. On the side leading into the city, an alternative footpath will be set up for pedestrians, which will also be open to bicycle traffic. Residents- especially businesses - will be guaranteed access to their properties. The large-scale detour will be via Stadtrodaer Straße. Jenaer Nahverkehr will provide information on timetable changes on this route.

Max-Gräfe-Gasse

• Reason: Demolition work
• Details: The construction site can be passed safely on foot.

Martin-Niemöller-Straße

• Type: Half-sided closure

• Reason: Relocation of medium voltage road
• Details: The construction site can be passed safely on foot.

Existing closures

Am Steinbach

• Type: One-way traffic
• Location: The street Am Steinbach becomes a one-way street in the direction of Wiesenstraße.
• Duration: until 28.06.2024
• Reason: Preparation for major construction project "Wiesenstraße traffic circle"
• Details: During this period, the trafficisland for traffic turning into Naumburger Straße is to be constructed in preparation for the major construction project "Wiesenstraße traffic circle" so that large vehicles can also drive onto the B 88 without obstruction.

Brückenstraße

• Type: Sectional half-side closures
• Location: between the construction site for the future traffic circle (Wiesenstraße / Brückenstraße) and the Kunitz house bridge
• Duration: 28.06.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering work on the supply lines
• Details: The road width will be narrowed at the respective construction site, traffic can pass on both sides. As the work will primarily be carried out in the sidewalk area, restrictions for pedestrians are to be expected.

Dammstrasse

• Type: Complete closure
• Duration: until 31.12.2024
• Reason: Laying of pipes and renewal of the road surface
• Details: The construction work is divided into two construction phases. Pedestrians can pass the construction site safely. A detour for private traffic will be signposted on site.

2nd construction phase: Schenkstraße to Charlottenstraße

Dornburger Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: At the junction with Nollendorfer Straße
• Start: until 28.06.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering works
• Details: The closure can be bypassed via Scharnhorststraße. Detour signs will be installed for this purpose. The construction site can be passed safely on foot.

Ernst-Haeckel-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Erbertstraße and Sellierstraße
• Duration: until 30.06.2024
• Reason: Work on the drinking water pipeline
• Details: Traffic will be diverted via the following route: Vor dem Neutor - Knebelstraße - Am Eisenbahndamm - Fürstengraben. The access road to Sellierstraße from Ernst-Haeckel-Straße is closed. The construction site can be passed safely on foot.
• Addition: From 19.06.2024, Ernst-Haeckel-Straße will be reopened to traffic, which will have a positive effect on the flow of traffic in the urban area. The remaining work on Erbertstraße will continue until 30.06.2024, so the road will remain fully closed until the end of construction.

Grenzstraße

• Type: Half-sided closure
• Location: At house numbers 2 - 4
• Duration: until 29.06.2024
• Reason: Construction of an apartment building
• Details: Pedestrians will be guided safely past the construction site using an emergency pedestrian route.

Karl-Liebknecht-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Feldstraße and Brändströmstraße
• Duration: until 02.08.2024
• Reason: Laying of combined sewer on behalf of Stadtwerke Jena
• Details: Traffic will be widely diverted via Wiesenstraße - Am Anger - Camsdorfer Brücke. Bicycle traffic will be diverted via: Pestalozzistraße - Gabelsbergerstraße - Am Steinborn. Streetcar services will continue to run despite the construction work.

Keßlerstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Göschwitzer Straße and Geraer Straße (1st construction phase)
• Duration: until 28.06.2024
• Reason: fundamental expansion in the area of Grenzstraße
• Details: A detour will be signposted. Pedestrians can pass the construction site safely.
• Addition: From the Geraer Staße junction to the railroad bridge, the road will be fully closed from 01.07. - 30.11.2024. During the construction period, the roadworks will continue.

Church square

• Type: Traffic restrictions
• Location: Around the town church
• Duration: 30.12.2024
• Reason: Extensive construction work
• Details: The construction site is safe for pedestrians and access to the town church is guaranteed throughout the construction period. However, Saalstraße will be fully closed to transit/delivery traffic.

Lichtenhainer Oberweg

• Type: Various restrictions
• Location: Tatzendpromenade junction to access to the P10 Zeiss parking lot
• Duration: until 31.12.2024
• Reason: Laying of district heating pipeline
• Details: From 25.03. to 30.06.2024, the work will initially be carried out with the road closed on one side. For this purpose, Lichtenhainer Oberweg will become a one-way street in the direction of Lichtenhain. A detour via Mühlenstraße will be signposted for traffic heading into the city. From July onwards, the Lichtenhainer Oberweg will have to be fully closed in sections. The construction site will gradually work its way from the upper part of Lichtenhainer Oberweg towards Tatzendpromenade. Detour will be signposted via Friedrich-Körnerstrasse, Döbereinerstrasse and Philipp-Müller-Strasse. Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck asks for your understanding for the restrictions.

Lobeda Ost and Lobeda Altstadt

• Type: Temporary half-side closure + sidewalk closure
• Duration: until 26.07.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering work for laying fiber optic cables
• Details: The construction site can be passed safely on foot.

Eastern Löbdergraben

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Steinweg and Lutherplatz
• Duration: until 09.08.2024
• Reason: Roadworks and media relocation
• Details: Traffic will be diverted via the following route Am Eisenbahndamm - Am Anger - Lutherplatz.
  People on foot use the western side of Löbdergraben.
• Addition: A new traffic route has been set up for road users who want to drive from the eastern Löbdergraben towards the Fürstengraben junction. It is possible to follow the signs and drive through the bus stop area in the direction of the Fürstengraben junction. When entering the track area from Löbdergraben, the streetcar must be given priority. We ask road users to drive carefully and considerately in this area.

Löbdergraben

• Type: Narrowing of lane
• Start: until 09.08.2024
• Reason: To ensure the construction work on the outdoor facilities of the Inselplatz campus
• Details: The eastbound lanes on Lutherplatz (Am Anger) will be narrowed to one lane over a distance of approx. 50.00 m from Löbdergraben. In Fürstengraben, the traffic flows will be separated into right-turning and straight-ahead vehicles.

Löbichauer Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Lower Löbichauer Straße (Karl-Liebknecht-Straße to Eschenplatz)
• Duration: until 30.11.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering works
• Details: Pedestrians will be safely rerouted.

Moritz-von-Rohr-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: at the level of the university of applied sciences
• Duration: until 21.06.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering works (medium voltage cable)
• Details: The closure can be bypassed via Carl-Zeiss-Promenade. The construction site can be safely passed on foot.

Naumburger Straße

• Type: Full closure Closure
• Duration: until 30.07.2024
• Reason: Reconstruction of the "Stifterstraße" streetcar stop + installation of track replacement
• Addition: In the period 25.03. - 31.07.2024, additional civil engineering work must be carried out at the local transport construction site. Due to the additional track drainage with associated shafts, the road must remain fully closed in order to work in the construction area from the roadway with the appropriate equipment. Individual traffic cannot flow due to the safety regulations to be observed.
• As a result, the buses of the rail replacement service (SEV line E) will continue to take an alternative route.
  

  The Stifterstraße stop is still unavailable and the Altenburger Straße replacement stop cannot be reached. Passengers are requested to use the Merseburger Straße stop instead.

Nollendorfer Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Thomas-Mann-Straße and Dornburger Straße
• Duration: until 30.09.2024
• Reason: Major road renovation

Oberaue

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: From the Saaleeingang Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld to just before the Lichtenhainer Brücke bridge
• Duration: until 30.06.2024
• Reason: Work on the stadium grandstand
• Details: The Lichtenhain Bridge is not affected by the closure. A detour for pedestrians and cyclists is signposted.

Remderoda

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Road in the direction of Remderoda
• Duration: until 15.09.2024
• Reason: Laying of drinking water pipe
• Details: A detour via Münchenroda will be signposted.

Schroeterstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: from the junction with Strigelstraße to the junction with Am Friedensberg
• Duration: until 30.10.2024
• Reason: Fundamental expansion of the road

Stadtrodaer Straße

• Type: Half-sided closure
• Location: behind the Lobedaer Straße bridge in the direction of Wöllnitz (driving towards the city center)
• Start: until 21.06.2024, daily in the time from 9:00 - 14:30
• Reason: Work is taking place in the side area as part of the fiber optic expansion.

Ziegenhain

• Type: Traffic restrictions
• Duration: until 28.06.2024
• Reason: Fiber optic expansion

Announcements

Dornburger Straße

• Type: Various closures
• Location: House number 6
• Start: 24.06.2024
• Reason: Construction of a new house
• Details: From this date, the sidewalk along the property and the adjacent parking lane will be required and closed for the construction site equipment. From 15.08.2024, the lane out of town will also be required until the shell of the building is completed. Out-of-town traffic will be diverted via Spitzweidenweg and Nollendorfer Straße.

Großschwabhäuser Straße

• Details: Traffic will be routed via the main road / B7 junction. A mobile traffic light system will be set up there. Traffic jams are to be expected.
