New closures / obstructions

Ernst-Haeckel-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Lane in the direction of the traffic circle
• Duration: 29.07. - 09.08.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering works
• Details: The closure can be bypassed via Rathenaustraße - Curt-Unckel-Straße - Hainstraße. The lane from the traffic circle towards Ernst-Haekel-Kreuzung remains passable. The roadworks can be passed safely on foot.

Friedrich-Engels-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Junction with Wöllnitzer Straße to junction with Kernbergstraße
• Duration: 01.08.2024 - 27.06.2025 (overall measure)
• Reason: Media relocation

• 1st construction phase: 01.08 - 23.12.2024
  Between the junction of Wöllnitzer Straße and the junction of Am Kochersgraben

• Details: The detour is via Jenertal - Kernbergstraße. A detour will be signposted. The construction site can be passed on foot. The directly affected residents will receive updated information on the accessibility of their properties and contact details of the relevant contact persons before the start of construction.

  Bus route 16 Mühltal - city center - Ziegenhainer Tal is also affected by the closure. Jena's local transport service will be setting upa shuttle servicehere from August 1.

Completed closures

Mädertal at Hsnr. 1

• The laying of supply lines has been completed.

Complete closure of the B7 lifted: Direct route of the JES line 410 will be resumed earlier

The full closure of the B7 will be lifted on Friday, July 26, 2024, around 12 noon. This will make it possible to resume the direct route of the JES line 410 between Droschka and Trotz earlier than originally planned. The resumption was originally planned for August 1, 2024.

Passengers should be prepared for these changes at short notice:

• From Friday afternoon, July 26, 2024, up to and including Wednesday, July 31, 2024, buses will run 6 minutes later in the direction of Jena on the "Eisenberg - Bürgel" section of the route than indicated on the currently known timetable tables and bus stop notices.
• In the opposite direction, buses will start 8 minutes later at "Jena, Westbahnhof" and will also run 8 minutes later to "Trotz" than advertised.
• The "Droschka" stop will be served again in both directions.
• From August 1, the normal timetable will apply with the weekend changes already implemented at the start of the summer holidays.

Dammstraße

• Type: Complete closure

• Reason: Pipe laying and renewal of the road surface
• Details: The construction work is divided into two construction phases. Pedestrians can pass the construction site safely. A detour for private traffic will be signposted on site.

2x Dornburger Straße

• Type: Various road closures
• Location House number 6
• Start: 19.06.2024
• Reason: Construction of a new house
• Details: From this date, the sidewalk along the property and the adjacent parking lane will be required and closed for the construction site equipment. From 15.08.2024 , the roadway out of town will also be required until the shell of the building is completed. Out-of-town traffic will be diverted via Spitzweidenweg and Nollendorfer Straße.

• Location: from the Altenburger Straße stop to the Nordschule school
• Duration: until 09.08.2024
• Reason: The renewal of the overhead line system of the Jena public transport system makes it necessary to close one side of the road at certain points and to close the pavement at the various mast locations during daily working hours.

Ernst-Abbe-Platz

• Reason: Extensive construction work in the track area
• Details: Crossing facilities for pedestrians will be set up.

Grenzstraße

• Type: Half-sided closure
• Location: At house numbers 2 - 4
• Duration: until 02.08.2024
• Reason: Construction of an apartment building
• Details: An emergency footpath leads past the construction site.

Hornstrasse

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between the Magdelstieg junction and Hornstraße 4
• Duration: until approx. 31.08.2024
• Reason: Accident
• Details: Repair work on the sewage pipe has been initiated.

Kahlaische Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: House numbers 68 and from the junction with Beutenbergstraße to house number 46
• Duration: until 31.07.2024 (end of the summer vacations)
• Reason: Media relocation in the sidewalk area by Stadtwerke Jena
• Details: The road must serve as an emergency footpath and as a construction site facility for the work to be carried out. The outbound lane is part of the construction site. The lane towards the city center serves as an alternative route and is also open to bicycle traffic. Residents - especially businesses - will be guaranteed access to their properties. The large-scale detour will be via Stadtrodaer Straße. Jenaer Nahverkehr will provide information on timetable changes on this route.

Karl-Liebknecht-Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Feldstraße and Brändströmstraße
• Duration: until 02.08.2024
• Reason: Laying of combined sewer on behalf of Stadtwerke Jena
• Details: Traffic will be widely diverted via Wiesenstraße - Am Anger - Camsdorfer Brücke. Cycle traffic will be diverted via Pestalozzistraße - Gabelsbergerstraße - Am Steinborn. Streetcar traffic will continue to run despite the construction work.

Keßlerstraße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Göschwitzer Straße and Geraer Straße (1st construction phase)
• Duration: until 31.07.2024
• Reason: fundamental expansion in the Grenzstraße area
• Details: A detour will be signposted. The construction site can be passed on foot.

• Addition: From 05.08. - 30.11.2024 a full closure between the Geraer Staße junction to the railroad bridge is necessary for the work.

Church square

• Type: Traffic restrictions
• Location: Around the town church
• Duration: until 30.12.2024
• Reason: extensive construction work
• Details: The construction site can be passed on foot, access to the town church is guaranteed during the entire construction period. Saalstraße will be fully closed to transit/delivery traffic.

Lichtenhainer Oberweg

• Type: Various restrictions
• Location: Tatzendpromenade junction to access to the P10 Zeiss parking lot
• Duration: until 31.12.2024
• Reason: Laying of district heating pipeline
• Details: From July, the Lichtenhainer Oberweg will have to be fully closed in sections. The construction site is gradually working its way from the upper part of Lichtenhainer Oberweg towards Tatzendpromenade. Detour will be signposted via Friedrich-Körnerstrasse, Döbereinerstrasse and Philipp-Müller-Strasse. Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck asks for your understanding for the restrictions.

Lobeda Ost and Lobeda Altstadt

• Type: Temporary half-side closure + sidewalk closure
• Duration: until 23.08.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering work for laying fiber optic cables
• Details: The construction site can be passed safely on foot.

Eastern Löbdergraben

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: between Steinweg and Lutherplatz
• Duration: until 09.08.2024
• Reason: Roadworks and media relocation
• Details: Traffic will be diverted via the following route Am Eisenbahndamm - Am Anger - Lutherplatz.
• The construction site can be crossed on foot via the footpath on the western side of Löbdergraben.

• Addition: A new traffic route has been set up for road users who want to drive from the eastern Löbdergraben towards the Fürstengraben junction. It is possible to follow the signs and drive through the bus stop area in the direction of the Fürstengraben junction. When entering the track area from Löbdergraben, the streetcar must be given priority. Please drive carefully and considerately in this area.

Löbdergraben

• Type: Narrowing of lane
• Start: until 09.08.2024
• Reason: To ensure the construction work on the outdoor facilities of the Inselplatz campus
• Details: The eastbound lanes on Lutherplatz (Am Anger) will be narrowed to one lane over a distance of approx. 50.00 m from Löbdergraben. In Fürstengraben, the traffic flows will be separated into right-turning and straight-ahead vehicles.

Löbichauer Straße

• Type: Complete closure
• Location: Lower Löbichauer Straße (Karl-Liebknecht-Straße to Eschenplatz)

• Reason: Civil engineering works
• Details: Pedestrians will be safely rerouted.

Martin-Niemöller-Straße

• Type: Half-sided closure
• Start: until 31.08.2024
• Reason: Relocation of medium voltage road
• Details: The construction site can be safely passed on foot.

Moritz-von-Rohr-Straße

• Type: Closure on one side
• Location: at the level of the university of applied sciences
• Duration: until 23.08.2024
• Reason: Civil engineering works (medium voltage cable)

Naumburger Straße

• Type: Full closure Closure
• Location: between Zitzmannstraße and Altenburger Straße
• Duration: until 27.09.2024
• Reason: Conversion of the "Stifterstraße" streetcar stop and fundamental expansion of the track system

• Addition: In the period 25.03. - 31.07.2024, additional civil engineering work must be carried out at the local transport construction site. Due to the additional track drainage with associated shafts, the road must remain fully closed in order to work on the construction site from the roadway with the appropriate equipment. Individual traffic cannot flow due to the safety regulations to be observed.

• As a result, the buses of the rail replacement service (SEV line E) will continue to take an alternative route.
• The Stifterstraße stop is still unavailable and the Altenburger Straße replacement stop cannot be reached. Passengers are requested to use the Merseburger Straße stop instead.

Nollendorfer Straße

• Location: between Thomas-Mann-Straße and Dornburger Straße

Oberaue

Remderoda

• Details: A detour via Münchenroda will be signposted.

Schillerstraße
