Jena cycles for a good climate!

People will be pedaling again from Saturday. That's when the Climate Alliance's CITY CYCLING campaign begins, in which Jena is participating for the 12th time. The competition takes place from 02. to 22.09.2023. Anyone who lives, works, belongs to a club or attends a (high) school in Jena can take part. The aim is to cycle as many distances as possible in a climate-friendly way and collect kilometers for your own team, school class or municipality. At the same time, the aim is to promote more cycling.
"I'm looking forward to seeing lots of cyclists pedaling for the climate again this year. The best thing about city cycling is that we all win. By avoiding CO2 emissions, the environment, the climate and all citizens in the municipalities benefit from less traffic congestion, less exhaust fumes and less noise," says Mayor and Head of Urban Development and Environment Christian Gerlitz.

Anyone wishing to take part can simply register on the CITY CYCLING website(link is external), join a team or set up their own. The kilometers cycled can either be tracked with the CITY CYCLING app(link is external) or subsequently entered online in the user profile on a trust basis.
