Jena fire department deployed in the Holzmarktpassage

The Jena professional fire department was called to an operation in the Holzmarktpassage on Sunday, 3.11.2024 at 7:25 am. Triggered by the fire alarm system, a fire in the technical room of the Cinestar cinema in the Holzmarktpassage was detected on site and quickly extinguished. Additional firefighters from the Jena Zentrum, Lichtenhain and Winzerla volunteer fire departments were called in to check the smoke on site and ensure that smoke could be extracted quickly. A total of 16 firefighters from the professional fire department and 25 firefighters from Jena's volunteer fire departments were deployed. There were no people in the building at the time of the operation. No statement can be made about the cause of the fire at this time.
