Jena fire department responds to construction site accident

The Jena fire department was called to an accident at a construction site in Dornburger Straße at around 9:15 on Monday morning. A worker had fallen on scaffolding and was seriously injured. The fire department deployed a fire engine and the special height rescue unit to rescue him. 18 firefighters and rescue services were deployed. The rescue was carried out using a turntable ladder. The construction worker was taken to the university hospital for further treatment. The police have taken over the investigation into the course of the accident.
