Jena is host town for Latvian delegation
It's official and the excitement is huge: as part of the Special Olympics World Games, the city of Jena - one of the 216 host towns nationwide - will welcome the delegation from Latvia to Germany from June 12 to 15, 2023.
The world's largest inclusive sporting event will take place in Berlin from June 17 to 25, 2023. There will be 190 delegations consisting of thousands of athletes with intellectual and multiple disabilities competing in 26 sports and two demonstration sports.
The aim of the Host Town Program is to get to know the country and its people and, in particular, regional characteristics and uniqueness at close quarters. To this end, the city of Jena wants to organize joint sports activities, events and excursions. Through encounters between people with and without disabilities and a direct exchange at work and leisure level, the aim is to promote strong inclusive cooperation.
The city is looking forward to welcoming the Latvian athletes soon - with this in mind: Mēs to gaidām ar nepacietību!
