Jena initial reception facility in good hands

09.09.2022

Since August, the gymnasium at the vocational school in Göschwitz has once again been used as an initial reception facility for refugees from Ukraine. Kommunalservice quickly upgraded the building for residential purposes. In addition, the municipal service also created replacement facilities for club sports.

In addition to this organizational work, the social services department also had to ensure that the people accommodated were looked after. ÜAG gGmbH was able to help quickly here. Managing Director Georg Hädicke is very pleased to have found a team around Chris Pasternak together with Kersten Kottnik to look after the now 65 residents in the hall around the clock.

Barbara Wolf, Head of Social Services, and Beate Wachenbrunner, Works Manager at KIJ, expressed their satisfaction during an inspection on Friday. Of course, the situation was born out of necessity. However, it is important that sufficient privacy is provided for the families within the scope of what is possible.

Once again, everyone involved would like to thank the school and the clubs for their understanding. Such exceptional situations can only be shouldered with solidarity.
