Jena measures for progressive corona infections

21.10.2020

The current Thuringian ordinance obliges the health authorities to examine and take extended protective measures within 7 days if the number of new infections exceeds 35 or 50 per 100,000 inhabitants. Against this background, the city of Jena has already planned possible measures in advance that should take effect if the critical limits of 35 or 50 new infections are exceeded. It is important that before concrete measures are taken, they are always weighed up against the actual incidence of infection. The city of Jena's restriction measures are closely based on the federal and state resolution of 14.10.2020.

Measures for a 7-day incidence of 35

As soon as the number of new infections exceeds 35 per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, the following measures will be examined

  • Celebrations in closed rooms and in the open air
Only a maximum of 15 people may attend private parties and meetings in closed rooms. A maximum of 25 people may attend outdoor celebrations.
  • For the time being, no restrictions are plannedfor public events. However, it will be mandatory to wear a face mask for the entire duration of the event.

Measures for a 7-day incidence of 50

As soon as the number of new infections exceeds 50 per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, the following measures will be examined

  • Private parties in closed rooms and in the open air
A maximum of 10 people or 2 householdsmay attend parties and meetings in closed rooms . Only a maximum of 10 people (no restriction on households) may attend outdoor celebrations or meetings .
  • Person restrictions for public events
A maximum number of 100 people should be allowed to attendpublic events . It is mandatory to wear a face mask during the entire event.
  • Masks must be worn in public spaces
The obligation to wear a face mask should be mandatory wherever people come together more closely or for longer periods of time and where the minimum distance of 1.50 m cannot be guaranteed . This applies to all public spaces, i.e. heavily frequented traffic areas, streets and squares.

The current number of new infections is very dynamic. These measures could therefore be implemented very quickly.
