Jena reaches incidence value of 50 - New measures to contain the pandemic are on the way

24.10.2020

After exceeding the corona 7-day incidence of 50, a new general ruling will be prepared and published on Monday.

The head of the crisis team and head of the security department Benjamin Koppe: "The number of infections continues to rise rapidly. Therefore we must take further measures to contain the pandemic. However, public life should continue to be maintained. That is why we have taken care to strike a balance between health protection and the facilitation of events. We urgently appeal for immediate implementation of the measures. Reduce personal contacts. Rethink every meeting, especially with older people. The situation is very serious."

The measures:

Non-public meetings and private parties indoors and outdoors

  • A maximum of 10 persons from a maximum of 2 households may participate in closed rooms.
  • In the open air a maximum of 25 persons may participate.

Restrictions on persons at public events in closed rooms and in the open air

  • In closed rooms, a maximum of 50 persons shall apply. The wearing of a mouth-nose cover during the entire event remains mandatory.
  • For public events in the open air, the maximum number of persons shall be 250. The wearing of a mouth-nose cover during the entire event is mandatory.
  • By presenting a conclusive hygiene concept, larger numbers of participants can be admitted by the public health department in individual cases.

Masks are compulsory in public areas

  • The wearing of a mouth-nose-cover should be obligatory wherever people come together more closely or for longer periods and where the minimum distance of 1.50 m cannot be guaranteed. This applies to the entire public space, i.e. highly frequented traffic areas, streets and squares.

The new regulations do not affect

  • Company events, such as meetings and consultations, remain regulated in the Second Thuringian SARS-CoV-2 Basic Regulation for Protection against Infection.
  • Sports events organized by organized sports organizations as well as infection prevention rules for the operation of daycare facilities and schools are currently governed by the Thuringian ordinance.
  • Gastronomic facilities are not restricted, but are subject to the rules of general disposition when private parties and non-public events are held.
