Jenabonus subsidy for Deutschlandticket from 01.09.2023

From 01.09.2023, the Jenabonus subsidy will be extended to the Deutschlandticket. Adults and young Jenabonus beneficiaries will then pay 34 euros instead of 49 euros for the D-Ticket.

The Jenabonus is onlygranted forDeutschlandticketspurchased from Jenaer Nahverkehr. They can bepurchasedonline in the subscription portal of Jenaer Nahverkehr(link is external) or in person at the Stadtwerke Jena Customer Center at Saalstraße 8A .

How to get the discount

Unlike the classic monthly ticket, which eligible persons can buy for cash at the service counter, a subscription including direct debit must be taken out with Jenaer Nahverkehrfor the D-Ticket .

Interested parties who do not yet have a subscription must submit the application to Jenaer Nahverkehr by Thursday, 10.08.2023 at the latest in order to receivethe discount as early as September .

The following also applies for later: If the subscription application is submitted by the 10th of a month,the discount willbe grantedfor the following month .

Monthly presentation of the entitlement card

To redeemthediscount, the Jenabonus entitlement card must be presented monthly at the Stadtwerke Jena Customer Center. If proof is provided by the 10th of the relevant D-Ticket subscription month, the discount will be deducted directly from the monthly debit.

Retroactive discount

The discount can also be redeemed retrospectively. This applies to the period from September 2023, when people have a valid Jenabonus travelcard and a subscription for the Deutschlandticket.

The decision is based on a City Council resolution of 28.06.2023 and was adopted with the approval of report 23/2075-BV.
