JenaKultur with dual leadership in future
After several months of discussions on the reorganization of the management of JenaKultur, the Jena City Council decided on Wednesday to place the management of the in-house operation in the hands of two equal plant managers in future.
The city council also appointed the previous deputy plant manager Carsten Müller as plant manager for "Central Management/Tourism/Marketing", whose many years of experience in the management of the in-house operation will provide the necessary stability in the company's development. Both plant managers will be supported by the commercial director and deputy plant manager Jana Gründig.
Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche congratulated Carsten Müller on his appointment as plant manager. As Head of the Department of Culture, he is in favor of equal management of the company in the future:
"We already have very good experience with dual leadership in management in companies such as the municipal utilities or Jena's local public transport. This successful model should also form the basis for the team-oriented further development of JenaKultur."
The new management structure assigns the strategic development of the cultural enterprise and its cultural educational institutions as well as the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra to a plant manager. What is new is that a plant manager is also directly responsible for the entrepreneurial management of the in-house operation.
"By sharpening our profile in terms of content, we want to achieve a balanced bundling of individual strengths in the management and content development of JenaKultur. In December, we will advertise the currently vacant position of plant manager for "Cultural Development and Cultural Education" nationwide," added Nitzsche.
