Jena's Lord Mayor and the District Administrator of the Saale-Holzland district jointly invite you to a spring hike
Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche and the district administrator of the Saale-Holzland district, Johann Waschnewski, invite you to a spring hike on Saturday, April 25. The tour starts in Nerkewitz and leads back there via Altengönna and Stiebritz.
The start is at 10 a.m. in Nerkewitz (a district of Lehesten) on the village square, where District Administrator Waschnewski and the Mayor of Lehesten, Michael Döring, will welcome everyone. Parking is available in the surrounding area. The route leads to the small Nerkewitz reservoir, to Lehesten and Altengönna. A lunchtime snack is planned at Gönnataler Puten GmbH. From Altengönna, the route leads to the Krippendorf trestle windmill. The route back to Stiebritz is on a well-maintained field path. Here, hard-working helpers from the elementary school and kindergarten will be waiting for the hikers with coffee and cake. From Stiebritz it is then only about 800 meters back to the starting point in Nerkewitz. Anyone interested is cordially invited to join the walk.
Many thanks to the mayor of Lehesten, Michael Döring, and all the helpers in the preparations. The district administrator's popular tradition of donating a rustic wooden bench to each hiking region together with the Sparkassenstiftung Jena Saale-Holzland is also to be continued.
A tradition since 2007
The district administrator hikes in the Saale-Holzland district were launched by former district administrator Andreas Heller in 2007. Since then, one spring and one fall hike have taken place in a region of the district almost every year. To mark the 30th anniversary of the SHK 2024, the first 30 hikes were compiled in an anniversary brochure.
"The Saale-Holzland is our home, our district, which we can be proud of. There are still many beautiful regions here that are worth exploring together,"
says District Administrator Johann Waschnewski. Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche adds:
"We live the good urban-rural relationships not only in politics, but also in everyday life. Together with District Administrator Waschnewski, I hope to see many hikers on April 25."
