JUBA Jena celebrates its first anniversary
The Jena Youth Employment Agency, JUBA for short, is celebrating its first anniversary today - a reason for the team and partners to celebrate. Since August 2021, JUBA has been supporting and advising young people and young adults up to the age of 27 with questions about training, careers, school and personal problems. Parents can also turn to the JUBA team with any questions they may have.
The founding of JUBA Jena was also linked to the idea of intensifying cooperation between all relevant players in one place. The team consists of experts from the employment agency and case managers from the U25 section of the jenarbeit job center and the youth welfare office of the city of Jena. For Matthias Welsch, head of jenarbeit and one of the congratulators, this has paid off :
"After a year under one roof, it has become clear that the collaboration is working extremely well. The young people receive help, support and the best possible advice concentrated in one place."
Franziska Exner, Managing Director of Operations at the Jena Employment Agency, also congratulates the JUBA team on last year's success:
"The short distances and quick exchange between all partners contributed to JUBA's success last year. The young people with a wide variety of advisory needs were able to receive uncomplicated and comprehensive help as a result."
The start a year ago - in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic - was not the easiest. JUBA coordinator Antje Peuckert and her colleagues are all the happier for it:
"A successful year of JUBA is now behind us, in which a lot has already been achieved. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our network partners for their benevolence and support for our work. Above all, I look forward to exciting projects for and with young people."
Despite existing access restrictions, the team was available to young people and their parents on all channels: by phone, email and WhatsApp. This is because the focus is on individual advice - if not otherwise possible, also via video to clarify the numerous questions. Particularly pressing issues are the search for training and accommodation, problems with parents, lack of prospects due to dismissal, no training position after leaving school, application rejections due to corona, support in learning German and help with the search for training for single parents.
JUBA also uses its Instagram channel to provide information on current dates and developments relating to training, career aspirations and studying.
In addition, the team was and is represented at important career information markets - online and in person - to raise awareness of their services. These include
-
Joint appearance at the Last Minute Apprenticeship Fair 2021 with the Employment Agency
-
Career information market 05/2022
-
Jobwalk Jena 07/2022
-
Support for the school tour with network partners from Jena's business community "Projekt Jupiter" and the "Passgenaue Besetzung" district craftsmen's association
-
Networking with six other youth employment agencies in Eastern Thuringia (Altenburg, Gera, SHK, Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, Pößneck, Greiz); regular exchange meetings; planning workshop and drawing up a list of demands for the state of Thuringia
Next on the agenda is the open-air trade fair "Thuringia is the future" on September 17 in the parking lot of the employment agency. Around 30 regional companies and authorities will be presenting themselves there to talk to interested visitors about work, training and studying.
