Kick-off of the city bike ride on Wednesday
The city of Jena is once again inviting people to take part in CITY CYCLING this year. For three weeks, the people of Jena are called upon to take part in the campaign, cycle along and ultimately save carbon dioxide. This year, Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche has posed as a "model" for the poster - he himself cycles to the town hall every day and also tries to use it for many other journeys.
Start of this year's city cycling:
Wednesday, August 21, 4:45 p.m.
Technical Town Hall, Am Anger 15
Mayor Thomas Nitzsche will give the symbolic starting signal. Afterwards, the kick-off tour will lead to the Golmsdorf vineyard of the Proppe winery - including a small tasting.
New this year is a fundraising campaign for the ten integrative kindergartens in the city of Jena. These are to be provided with pedal vehicles - "children's tricycle rickshaws", so to speak, on which children who cannot ride themselves can come along on the passenger seat and buckle up.
This is the seventh time that the city of Jena has taken part in the Climate Alliance's city cycling campaign.
