What is the Thuringian Digital Festival?

The Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society takes visitors on a journey through a digital Thuringia. It shows what our future looks like, what potential digitalization holds for our shared social life and how we Thuringians are actively shaping these future topics.

There will be around 20 exhibitors on site and a varied programme with activities for young and old: The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with the official opening by Minister of Economic Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee and Head of Digitalization Benjamin Koppe. The Digital and Open Source Award ceremony will take place from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The exhibitors will be there until 18:00 and look forward to welcoming many interested visitors.

The Digital Festival runs throughout Thuringia up to and including 05.07.22. With a variety of online and presence offers. All information can be found here.

What is there to experience at the Smart City Jena stand?

The participation phase for the strategy of the Smart City Jena project has been running since March 9, 2022. A total of nine events, online or analog, were held on various topics. Since March 14, 2022, all interested parties have been able to use the participation platform https://mitmachen.jena.de to comment on the objectives and measures in the fields of action. This is still possible until June 25. On that day, the participation phase will be officially concluded as part of the Thuringian Digital Festival.

The second digitalization project to be presented is the "5G Traffic Networking Jena" project. With the help of the project and on the basis of 5G technology, the city of Jena wants to optimize the flow of traffic for all road users and increase road safety for particularly vulnerable groups at critical intersections. The project is currently in the implementation phase and would like to provide information about use cases and progress in the project.

The City-Fest - as a place for people to meet at eye level - puts the focus on people.

The citizens of Jena have the opportunity to contribute to the various goals and measures: Be it in conversations, on posters or online via two terminals. Children can let off steam by drawing and putting their digital city of the future on paper.

Visitors can talk to those responsible for the five fields of action at the following times:

10:00 - 11:00 a.m.: Digital infrastructure and data policy
11:00 - 12:00: Urban development, environment and transport
