Kulturanum: Open day on October 1

26.09.2019

On 01.10.2019 from 15:00, the state community school "Kulturanum" Jena will open its doors to all interested children, parents and, of course, all those who would like to get an impression of our work. Pupils, parents, educators and teachers would like to give an insight into the working methods and life, indeed the culture, of the Kulturanum.

On all floors and in our courtyard, the green classroom, you can get information, listen to the sounds of the various music profiles, play and enjoy refreshments. Children are invited to explore the school, have their faces painted and conquer the playground, while interested adults can get answers to their questions at their leisure. This year, our school was awarded the Jakob Muth Prize for inclusive schools alongside three other schools from Berlin, Hamburg and Bonn. We would like to quote from the press release dated 16.09.2019 from the Bertelsmann Foundation, which awards this prize:

"The "Kulturanum" in Jena convinced the jury of the Jakob Muth Prize with its systematic combination of inclusive learning with a comprehensive cultural education program. The strengths of the Jena community school include the consistent concept of cross-grade and project-oriented learning, the consistent involvement of the school environment and the good cooperation with local businesses, associations and other educational institutions."

We now want to make these strengths, which led the jury to award the prize, known to a wider public at our open day and would therefore be delighted if, in addition to interested children and parents, other curious eyes and ears were to visit us.
