Long Night of the Museums: advance booking started

04.05.2022

The time has come: on Friday, 20.05.2022, the Long Night of Museums will take place again after a two-year break under the motto "Doors open!". On this evening, 34 locations will invite visitors to exhibitions, readings, collections and concerts in a program reminiscent of the museum nights of the pre-corona era. Families can also look forward to a varied program with puppet shows, special guided tours for children, traditional crafts and colourful creative activities. And then there's what's always there: the collections, the museums, the special aura of the places on this special night.

In addition to the Romantikerhaus, which only reopened in April, the art collection and the city museum, the opening of architectural monuments, numerous university collections, the ThULB with Rooom 3D, the Imaginata, the Zeiss Planetarium and the Schott Villa all contribute to a unique and inspiring museum night. The Friedenskirche church and the Johannisfriedhof cemetery offer guided tours by night and a romantic concert with Michael & Matthias von Hintzenstern. At GARTEN Daheme, T&T Wollner offer two chanson concerts.

A look behind otherwise closed doors

The evening offers a wonderful opportunity to take a look behind otherwise closed doors until late in the evening, to enjoy the magical flair of the evening with jazz sounds or to be chauffeured from one program point to the next in one of the two historic streetcars!

If you like, you can be guided through the evening by one of the suggested themed tours or put together your own tour to suit your taste. Whether big or small, interested in music, technology or science - every visitor is offered unforgettable impressions.

Special tip: Anyone who takes part in the discovery rally and finds the owl - the newly developed signet of the Museum Night - can look forward to a small prize at the end.
