Major fire department operation in Lobeda-Ost

A fire department operation has been underway in Lobeda-Ost since the early hours of the morning. At 05:25, the emergency services were called to a cellar fire at Musäusring 37.
The building had to be evacuated. The 69 people affected were medically assessed and cared for on site. Two people suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment. Two buses from Jena's public transport system are on standby to provide assistance. It is currently being investigated when the residents will be able to return to the building.
The fire is now under control. The fire department used foaming agent to fight the fire. The Jena professional fire department and the Lobeda and Winzerla volunteer fire departments are or were deployed with 16 units. These include
- command vehicle (ELW) C-duty
- Emergency fire engine (HLF) from the north and south fire stations
- Lobeda fire engine (LF)
- Breathing protection roll-off container
- Logistics + foam equipment vehicle
- Command vehicle (ELW) B service
- Emergency pastoral care
- Organizational head of rescue service (OrgL)
- Emergency fire fighting vehicle (HLF) - Training team
- (KatS) support train
The scene has been dismantled since around 11 am. The Mitte and Göschwitz volunteer fire departments are on standby to support the professional fire department in the event of further operations in the Jena city area.
