New general ruling applies from Friday, 19.11.2021
From Friday, the city of Jena will implement a model decree issued by the state of Thuringia. This is intended to counter the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
2G rule
Specifically, the 2G rule (entry only for vaccinated or recovered persons) applies in many areas. These include
- Restaurants (inside and outside)
- coach events
- events open to the public, free of charge or for a fee, in particular exhibitions, trade fairs, special and flea markets, sporting events, cultural events such as readings, theater, cinema, opera or concert performances as well as discotheques, dance clubs and other dance parties
- non-public events (with 15 or more people in closed rooms and 20 or more people in the open air), provided that the outdoor facilities of restaurants, event venues and other comparable facilities are used for this purpose
- hotels
- bars, discotheques
- Gyms, swimming pools, saunas, sports halls (indoor and outdoor)
- Leisure sports (indoor and outdoor)
- Leisure facilities and services
- Zoological and botanical gardens
- Hunting, flying and dog schools
- Places of prostitution
- Orchestra (if wind instruments are used) and choir rehearsals
- Body-related services (specifically: hairdressing salons, nail, cosmetic, tattoo, piercing and massage studios)
New rules for employees
Employees in these areas must provide proof of vaccination or recovery. Otherwise, employment with personal contact can only be maintained with a PCR test (valid for 48 hours) or a PCR rapid test (valid for 24 hours).
Rules for children and adolescents
Asymptomatic children up to the age of six and all children who have not yet started school, as well as asymptomatic pupils, are exempt from the 2G rule if they provide proof of participation in regular testing as part of a mandatory testing plan. Asymptomatic pupils do not have to present any tests if they provide proof of participation in regular testing at school.
3G rule
The 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered or presentation of a rapid test) applies to:
- medically prescribed or therapeutically necessary body-related services,
- driving schools
- non-tourist hotel stays shorter than 72 hours
Rules for events
General restrictions on the number of people allowed at events are as follows: Public events are limited to 1,000 people (inside) and 2,000 people (outside). The distancing and mask requirement also applies here. For non-public events, the limits of 50 people inside and 100 people outside apply.
