New test centre in the Noll Garden from Friday

The possibility to be tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus by rapid test is very well accepted. In the first week, more than 600 people could be tested. 6 tests showed a positive result and were subsequently checked and confirmed with a PCR test.

Due to the high demand, the crisis team of the city of Jena has decided to extend the opening hours of the test centres Ernst-Schneller-Straße 10 and F-Haus with immediate effect.

In addition, a further test station will be set up in the Noll-Garten (entrance at the passage Oberlauen- to Unterlauengasse) from Friday. Here, from Monday to Saturday, citizens of Jena will have the opportunity to take a free rapid test between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. As at the other centres, the tests will be carried out by trained staff.

Taking a rapid test is particularly useful if, for example, you want to make sure that you are not infectious before visiting relatives or an institution. In case of typical covid symptoms - even if they are only mild - a consultation with the family doctor is still advised.
