New Wandelkarte for Jena
The new change map for Jena is online! The sustainable city map has been fundamentally revised and is now available as a networked web version. It provides an overview of local, sustainable and community-oriented initiatives and offers, places and opportunities for exchange.
"The Wandelkarte helps you to meet your own needs and requirements in a resource- and climate-friendly way. This makes sustainable consumption more suitable for everyday use. The card thus contributes to socio-ecological change and is a very practical building block on Jena's path to climate neutrality by 2035," says Mayor and Head of Urban Development Christian Gerlitz.
154 entries in Jena
Jena's transformation map currently comprises 154 entries. These are organized into six categories: organic, fair, regional, community, food and reusable. They include, for example, organic stores, stores with sustainable clothing, workshops, swap racks and urban gardening projects. After all, sustainable consumption doesn't just mean consuming consciously, but also growing your own food, repairing things instead of buying new ones and giving away things you don't need. The offers can of course be constantly expanded and renewed. The city of Jena maintains the Wandelkarte with the help of actors in the local sustainable environment.
Supra-regionally networked map
The updated pages for Weimar and Erfurt went online together with the Jena Wandelkarte. The Wandelkarten were launched and created in 2016 by the Weimar initiative WinD-Gruppe Thüringen and Eine Welt Netzwerk Thüringen e. V. (One World Network Thuringia). Other cities are now supporting the project and thus strengthening the network for sustainability.
The city maps are part of a sustainability network and are intelligently linked to other sustainability maps. This means that entries on the change maps are automatically synchronized with the Thuringian sustainability map and the website of the sustainability network.
