MUT-TOUR action day in Jena

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the city of Jena, together with numerous local partners, cordially invites you to the MUT-TOUR action day at the historic town hall. From 14:00 to 17:00, the focus will be on encounters, music and information - for an open and respectful approach to mental illness.

Program schedule:

• 14:00 - Opening with information stands from various advice centers

• 14:45 - Arrival of the MUT-TOUR tandems and welcome by Kathleen Lützkendorf, Head of Social Affairs

• 3 p.m. - Concert by the band "ME & THE LION", which encourages with pop, rock and country music

• 16:00 - Open discussions over coffee and cake

The tandems of the MUT-TOUR will be received at the Maua sports field as early as 14:00.

All program points are free of charge.

The action day is supported by:

• agathe - Thuringian initiative against loneliness

• Ernst Abbe Library Jena

• IKOS - Center for Self-Help

• Cycling without age

• Addiction counseling center SiT

• City of Jena (anti-discrimination office, care authority, social psychiatric service)

An offer for schools will take place in the Ernst Abbe Library around the day of action: "How are you? How am I doing?" - Strong together into the new school year

Background to the MUT-TOUR:

The MUT-TOUR is a Germany-wide action program under the motto "Self-help in motion". People with and without experience of depression cycle or hike together on tandems, on foot or accompanied by horses through Germany. The aim is to destigmatize mental illness through dialogue, exercise and media presence.

Millions of people will be reached - through media interviews, encounters, information stands and hands-on activities at numerous stops along the route. In 2025, participants will cover several thousand kilometers and send a strong signal of shared awareness and respect throughout Germany.
