Nominations open for the Jena Night of Sport 2026
Proposals for the awards as part of the Jena Night of Sport 2026 can now be submitted again. Until 09.11.2025, citizens, clubs and institutions have the opportunity to nominate outstanding athletes, teams and trainers for an award.
After this year's successful event, the Jena Night of Sport 2026 is breaking new ground: with the move to the Sparkassen-Arena Jena, the gala will be larger, more interactive and offer even more opportunities to actively involve clubs. The evening is set to become the central networking event for sport in Jena.
The awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Young sportswoman of the year 2025
- Young athlete of the year 2025
- Sportswoman of the year 2025
- Sportsman of the Year 2025
- Team of the Year 2025
- Coach of the year 2025
Special prize for inclusion for the first time
For the first time, a special prize for inclusion will also be awarded in recognition of special commitment to diversity and participation in sport. This prize is significantly supported by the company Jüttner Orthopädie KG. In addition to the sporting honors, deserving volunteers from Jena's sports community will also be recognized for their commitment.
Ceremonial gala on 28.03.2026
The festive gala will take place on 28.03.2026. The most successful and committed athletes and volunteers of the 2025 sports year will be honored in front of a large audience.

says Thomas Fritsche, Deputy Chairman of the Stadtsportbund Jena e.V.
"With the new format, we not only want to honor successes, but also strengthen and promote exchange within the sports family."

"The Jena Night of Sport is a strong signal - for all those who support, shape and breathe life into sport in our city. Whether on the pitch, in the hall or in the background of club work: without the diverse commitment of many Jena citizens, sport in this form would be unthinkable."
