Commemorative event on November 9
On 09.11.2025 the "Sound of the Stumbling Stones" will again take place decentrally at various locations in Jena from 17.45 hrs. Afterwards, the Arbeitskreis Judentum Jena in cooperation with the city of Jena invites you to this year's commemoration of the November pogrom on 09.11.1938 at 19.00 hrs:
- Welcome: Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, Lord Mayor of the City of Jena
- Poem: Gabi Rönnefarth
- Music: Ilga Herzog and flute ensemble
- Short introduction of the guest speaker Julia Brabant (by Superintendent Sebastian Neuß)
- Memorial speech: Pastor Julia Brabant
- Music: Ilga Herzog
- Wreath-laying by Milan Andics, cantor of the Jewish community of Thuringia, and Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche in memory of the Jews, Sinti and Roma deported from Jena, framed by the memorial and funeral prayer Kaddish
- Prayer: Cantor Andics sings the "El Male Rachamim"
- Moment of silence
