Operational exercise of the volunteer fire departments in the Göschwitz industrial estate

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the volunteer fire departments of Winzerla, Göschwitz, Lobeda and Leutra will conduct a joint one-hour drill in the Göschwitz industrial estate from around 5:30 pm. A total of around 42 firefighters take part in the exercise.

The exercise scenario takes place on the premises of Kontinent Spedition GmbH, Göschwitzer Straße 34. A fire in a warehouse is simulated, using fog machines and flashing lights to create the most realistic scene possible.

The aim of the exercise is to get to know the local conditions, to train the rescue of several people (in the form of training dummies) and to coordinate firefighting with several nozzles.
During the exercise, there may be slight traffic restrictions in the area of Göschwitzer Straße at times. The fire departments ask residents and road users for their understanding.
Sirens will be sounded to alert the participating units and to inform the volunteer fire departments that the exercise is about to begin. There is no danger situation.
