Schlegelsberg: Expansion of the stop together with pipeline construction by Stadtwerke in 2027
The city of Jena, the JenaWasser special-purpose association and Stadtwerke Jena Netze are currently coordinating the upcoming construction work around Schlegelsberg. As a result, both the barrier-free expansion of the Schlegelsberg stop and the further pipeline construction work in Berthold-Delbrück-Straße will be implemented together from 2027.
The aim is to keep the restrictions for citizens as low as possible by coordinating the construction process. Coordination is also planned with Jena's public transport system to ensure public transport connections to the district during the construction work. However, further details on construction times, construction phases and closures have not yet been finalized.
Replacement of supply lines
Since March of this year, Zweckverband JenaWasser and Stadtwerke Jena Netze have been renewing the existing supply lines in Wenigenjena between the junction of Am Steinborn / Im Ritzetal and the property at Berthold-Delbrück-Straße 18. The work by JenaWasser and Stadtwerke is proceeding according to plan and should be completed by the end of the year. The Schlegelsberg bus stop is also expected to be served by bus route 14 again from December 15. It is not yet clear whether the fiber optic expansion work being carried out by Telekom, primarily in the sidewalk area, will also be completed by this time.
The necessary comprehensive renewal of the supply infrastructure on Schlegelsberg will continue in 2026 in the northern Bernhard-Schultze-Straße. From 2027, pipeline construction in the upper Berthold-Delbrück-Straße is then planned, at the same time as the barrier-free expansion of the Schlegelsberg stop by the city of Jena.
