StadtLab ideas competition is looking for the most creative idea for the council building

You can now click or cross your fingers: The StadtLab Ideas Competition 2025 under the motto "Grab the Zeise" awards prizes for the best ideas for Jena's Ratszeise. Three awards will be selected by a jury. The audience award is open to the people of Jena. The ten final ideas will be presented onthe StadtLab website. You can then vote for your favorite at the click of a mouse. For those who prefer to use an analog method, voting slips are available at the StadtLab at Markt 1. On site - in the former Ratszeise - the diverse project ideas will also be presented once again "offline" as a poster gallery.

"This year, our StadtLab ideas competition revolves around a very special place that is close to the hearts of so many people in Jena: the former Ratszeise," says Grit Sachse, project manager at StadtLab Jena. "Every day in our work, we notice how great the interest of our citizens is in this 'living room of the city'. We are particularly pleased that more than 20 creative concepts were submitted for this year's competition." A large number of those who submitted ideas also went through the various ideas workshops. "There they honed their own concept profile, considered new aspects and trained for the big jury pitch," says Sachse.

New and creative visions sought for the StadtLab

A total of ten bold concepts are now in the final - for the jury prizes, but also for the Audience Award 2025. New and creative visions were sought for the StadtLab am Markt. An exhibition space for artists from Jena, a showcase with highlights from Thuringia, a games corner in the middle of the city center, or perhaps a place for sports, gaming or even a place to spend the night? All ideas can be discovered on the StadtLab Jena website or in the poster exhibition in the Ratszeise. The awards will be presented on 25.11.2025. Until then, the StadtLab team is hoping for lively participation in the online and offline voting.
