Child day care in Jena at a glance

They prepare lunch together and eat together in the cozy kitchen. The atmosphere in Beate Linke's daycare center is informal. She looks after a maximum of five children aged up to three years at any one time in her lovingly designed rooms in Burgau.

Beate Linke is currently one of 17 childminders in Jena. Together they offer places for 79 children. Johannes Schleußner, Head of the Department for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport, together with Silke Klingebiel and Christine Müller from the Child Day Care Team in the Youth and Education Department, has now presented Beate Linke with the freshly printed copies. The printed flyers are available from all childminders in Jena, the childcare team (Am Anger 13), the first visit service of the city of Jena and the family service.

For parents, child day care is no more expensive than a place in a kindergarten. The boys and girls have a permanent caregiver and receive professional educational care in accordance with the Thuringian education plan. If the childminders are ill or on vacation, they can cover for each other. Anyone seeking advice or help in finding a childcare place is supported by the childcare team in the Youth and Education Department.
