Hybrid information event on the fundamental expansion of Naumburger Straße

The major expansion of Naumburger Straße with the construction of the new tramway to Himmelreich is in the starting blocks. Before it starts, the city of Jena, Kommunalservice Jena, Jenaer Nahverkehr and the commissioned engineering office HI Bauprojekt GmbH invite you to a hybrid information event on Tuesday, 10.02.2026 from 18:00 to 20:00.

The event will take place online as an MS Teams live event. The speakers will be connected via microphone and camera. Questions can be asked via the comment function (Q&A)

Participation on site

For people without online access, the event will be broadcast in the Kommunalservice Jena building.

Comprehensive infrastructure measure

The ground-up expansion of Naumburger Straße is a comprehensive joint project between the city of Jena, Kommunalservice Jena, Jenaer Nahverkehr, Stadtwerke Jena and JenaWasser. It is the largest infrastructure project in Jena in recent years.

In addition to the extension of the streetcar line to Himmelreich, roads, footpaths and cycle paths as well as central supply and disposal lines along Naumburger Straße are being renewed. The aim is to sustainably improve mobility and quality of life in the north of Jena.
