Winter vacations at forum natura: experience, taste and create nature

During the winter vacations, the forum natura nature experience center invites families and adults to two special events that focus on nature knowledge, community and practical experiences. Whether it's a culinary adventure around the campfire or creative handicrafts for species conservation: here you can experience the forest with all your senses.

Kettle goulash over an open fire - forest feast for families and adults

A hearty goulash soup is prepared together over a crackling campfire. The venison from deer or wild boar comes directly from the Jena city forest and offers an authentic insight into sustainable regional nutrition. While the kettle simmers over the fire, participants learn exciting facts about the forest and game.

20 euros for children up to 14 years, 25 euros for adults; plus game meat (pro rata)

Nest box building - forest crafts for families

20.02.2026 | 10:00 - 12:00 a.m.

Just in time for the start of the breeding season for many native bird species, we build nesting boxes together. Step by step, we will create safe nesting places that can then be installed in your own garden or on your balcony. As well as having fun with their hands, children and adults learn how they can actively support birds and protect their habitat.

4 euros per person plus 10 euros/nesting box
