New closures / obstructions
University Hospital stop (Erlanger Allee)
- Type: Closure of one lane inbound and one lane outbound
- Duration: 09.03. to 15.06.2026
- Reason: Renovation work at the stop
- Details: The surrounding roads are not affected and can still be used. A replacement stop for the streetcar will be set up in the westbound/townbound direction

Bernhard-Schultze-Straße
- Type: Complete closure
- Duration: 16.03. to 02.10.2026
- Reason: fundamental expansion with pipeline and sewer construction
- Details: The work will be carried out in two construction phases. A detour will be signposted.
- 1st construction phase: Am Steinborn from Löbichauer Straße to Bernhard-Schultze-Straße
- 2nd construction phase: Am Steinborn road to Klopfleischstraße
Camburger Straße - 30 km/h, all day
On the section between Scharnhorststraße and Camburger Straße 75, the speed limit is currently 30 km/h all day due to road damage. This regulation will remain in place until repairs are completed.
Fürstengraben
- Type: Half-sided closure incl. one-way street regulation
- Location: from the Löbdergraben junction to before the Johannisplatz junction
- Duration: 16.03. to 10.04.2026
- Reason: Pavement renovation in two construction phases
- Details: Fürstengraben will become a one-way street out of town. Inbound traffic will be diverted via Erfurter Straße/ Katharinenstraße/ Lutherstraße/ Ernst-Haeckel-Platz/ Ernst-Haeckel-Straße/ Knebelstraße.
- Information for pedestrians and cyclists: For safety reasons, the construction site cannot be crossed directly during the work. Crossings are possible at both ends of the construction section:
- To the east via the traffic lights at the Löbdergraben / Saalbahnhofstraße / Lutherplatz junction.
- To the west via a temporary traffic light.

Track construction Oberaue
- Type: Postponement of the track construction work
- Reason: Delay in delivery
- Details: The planned night-time track construction work must be postponed due to a delivery delay. Jenaer Nahverkehr will inform you in good time about the new start of construction and the associated detour of streetcar lines 1, 4 and 5.
Humboldstraße (B7)
- Type: Half-sided closure and full closure of the sidewalk
- Location: At house number 8 - 10
- Duration: 16.03. to 03.04.2026
- Reason: Civil engineering works for the extension of the backbone route (data lines)
- Details: The carriageway will be narrowed to a passage width of 3.50 m. The opposite sidewalk can be used.

August-Bebel-Straße

- Details: A detour is signposted.
From 20.12.2025, access to the Norma supermarket via August-Bebel-Straße will be possible again.
Göschwitz station, forecourt
- Type: Complete closure
- Duration: until 30.06.2026
- Reason: fundamental expansion of the area
- Details: The construction site can be safely passed on foot in the direction of Göschwitz station. A limited number of bicycle parking spaces will be provided opposite the streetcar stop in the green area. Alternatively, bicycles can also be parked in the western area of the station.
Carl-Zeiss-Platz
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: House numbers 12 to 14
- Duration: until 31.12.2026
- Reason: Renovation and new construction of the German Optical Museum
Dornburger Straße 6
- Type: Various closures
- Duration: until 31.10.2026
- Reason: New building construction
- Detail: There is a one-way regulation into the city. The restricted area will be used for construction site equipment and loading/unloading. Out of town, the detour is via Spitzweidenweg and Nollendorfer Straße.
Fritz-Reuter-Straße
- Type: Complete closure
- Duration: until 21.10.2026
- Reason: Reconstruction of drinking water, mixed water and electrical pipes
- Details: The work will be carried out in two construction phases. A detour will be signposted.
- 1st construction phase: From Kronfeldstraße to Viktor-von-Scheffel-Weg
- 2nd construction phase: Viktor-von-Scheffel-Weg to Tatzendpromenade, start approx. April 2026
Forstweg (bridge)
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: between house numbers 14 to 25
- Duration: until 20.12.2026
- Reason: Replacement construction of the bridge
- Details: The road is only accessible from both directions up to the bridge. Depending on the construction work, there may also be parking and stopping restrictions. A temporary pedestrian bridge will be built. The temporary bridge can be used by pedestrians without restriction.
Corridor road
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: between Naumburger Straße and Maria-Pawlowna-Straße
- Duration: until 27.03.2026
- Reason: Renewal of the asphalt surface
- Details: The closure can be bypassed via the adjacent road network.
Jenertal stop (Stadtrodaer Straße)
- Type: Closure of one lane
- Duration: until 23.06.2026
- Reason: Renovation work at the bus stop
- Details: The bus stop will be taken out of service during this time. A replacement stop for the streetcar will be set up in the north/city direction. It will still be possible to cross the road on foot.
Kahlaische Straße (sidewalk)
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: At house number 1 to 3
- Duration: until 29.05.2026
- Reason: Civil engineering works and sidewalk renovation
- Details: Pedestrians will be diverted via the adjacent road network.
Lessingstraße
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: between Fröbelstieg and Max-Wien-Platz

- Details: The construction site can be bypassed via Helmholtzweg
Lutherstrasse
- Type: Closure on one side

- Reason: Civil engineering works and material deposits
- Details: Out of town, the half-sided closure can be bypassed. Inbound traffic will be diverted via Herderstraße / Sickingenstraße. The closure can also be bypassed via Erfurter Straße.
Naumburger Straße
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: Jena town exit to the junction with Carl-Orff-Straße Süd
- 1st construction phase: until 30.11.2026
- Reason: Comprehensive infrastructure measure
- Details: The fundamental expansion of Naumburger Straße is beginning. In addition to the renewal of the road, the extension of the streetcar line to the Himmelreich residential area is planned. At the same time, footpaths and cycle paths as well as central supply and disposal lines will be renewed. The aim of the measure is to secure the infrastructure in the long term and to better connect the Himmelreich and Am Oelste residential areas to the streetcar network. In the period from 02.03. to 30.11.2026, the first construction phase will be a full closure between the southern Carl-Orff-Straße and the end of Jena. There will be a large-scale detour in both directions from Camburg / Rodameuschel via the L1070 to Trotz, from Trotz on the B7 via Bürgel to Jena. The Carl-Orff-Straße Süd junction is open to traffic throughout.
Remderodaer Straße
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: between Münchenrodaer Grund and the railroad bridge
- Duration: until 16.10.2026
- Reason: Replacement of the drinking water pipeline and road surface renovation
- Details: A detour will be signposted.
Schroeterstraße
- Type: Complete closure
- Location: from Strigelstraße to Forstweg
- Duration: until 31.03.2026
- Reason: Fundamental road expansion
- Details: During the construction period there is no connection to Katharinenstraße.
Sankt-Jakob-Straße
- Type: Complete closure of the southern carriageway
- Location: between Kritzegraben and Spittelplatz
- Duration: until 31.12.2026
- Reason: fundamental expansion of the area
- Details: People on foot or by bike will be diverted via Philosophenweg in the direction of Sankt-Jakob-Straße. The streets Kritzegraben, Am Planetarium and Sophienstraße can be used without restriction.
