ProbierMobil kicks off the outdoor season with a new e-bike
With the ProbierMobil, the ProbierLaden of the vhs Jena is expanding its offer as part of the Smart City Jena project beyond its fixed location. It brings digital experiences, advice and information directly to other parts of Jena. The aim is to reach people for whom the journey into the city center is too time-consuming and to support city festivals and local events with low-threshold educational and media offerings. Until now, the ProbierMobil was operated exclusively by muscle power.
Since last week, the mobile and fold-out trailer has now been equipped with a matching e-bike. The electric support makes transportation easier, extends the range and makes it practical to use over longer distances. With the e-bike, the ProbierMobil is now well equipped for the 2026 outdoor season.
The first use of the ProbierMobil, including the e-bike, took place on Saturday, May 9, at the sustainability festival of the "Im Ziegenhainer Tal" daycare center. Children were offered Ozobots - small, programmable educational robots - which provided a playful introduction to robotics and programming. The Ozobots are often used in education for sustainable development to teach children about topics such as renewable energy and environmentally friendly mobility. Parents and relatives in particular were also made aware of the importance of media education and the services offered by the taster store through personal discussions and information material.
Cooperating initiatives, projects and associations are invited to request the ProbierMobil for their own events and thus enrich local campaigns with digital experiences, advice and information stands.
