Register now: Graffiti workshop in paradise

The city of Jena's new skate and BMX park in Paradies is nearing completion. A graffiti workshop is now being held to give it a colorful makeover before it opens. This will be carried out by the JG Stadtmitte in cooperation with two experienced experts.

The workshop will take place from 21 to 24 May 2026 from 15:00 to 19:00 and is aimed at teenagers and young adults aged 14 and over. The aim of the event is to design the park together with the future target group at an early stage. The project is therefore deliberately designed to be participatory and allows participants to contribute their own ideas to the development and implementation of the design concept.

Participation possible with and without previous experience

The workshop is suitable for people with and without previous experience. Participants will receive professional guidance and support throughout the workshop, allowing them to learn the basics or deepen their existing knowledge.

A motif is developed together and the participants can play an active role in its design. The color scheme is based on the applicable monument preservation guidelines. The design is initially intended to be permanent, but a redesign in a similar format is conceivable.

Theme week: Graffiti with a focus on the FLINTA* perspective

The workshop is part of a theme week of the JG Stadtmitte on graffiti with a special focus on the FLINTA* perspective in the scene. An accompanying exhibition will take place during the opening hours of the JG Stadtmitte (Tuesday: 18:00 to 23:00, Wednesday to Friday: 16:00 to 20:00). In addition, the film "Girl Power", which deals with women* in the international graffiti scene, will be shown on 20.05.2026 from 18:00.
