Mayor, department head and department heads condemn threats against mayor

In a joint statement, the Lord Mayor and the department heads of the City of Jena have strongly condemned the threats against Mayor Benjamin Koppe.

"The depiction of the mayor in crosshairs is an unacceptable overstepping of boundaries. Insults and calls for violence of this kind cannot be justified by anything. It is necessary to draw a clear line here: As aldermen and as Lord Mayor, we stand by our colleague. Respect and esteem for the people involved must be the basis of all discussions. We expect this basic understanding to be shared by everyone involved, including those from the fan scene and the club."
