Finally: the new website is online.

After a lead time of around three years, the city of Jena's website has been raised to a new level since April 2, 2019: mobile-capable, low-barrier and service-friendly - jena.de 3.0

Several employees of the city and the municipal real estate company Kommunale Immobilien Jena, various external service providers and, last but not least, around 100 municipal internet editors were involved in the project.

At the heart of the new jena.de is the Citizen and Business Service (BUS) with over 350 services from the city administration and municipal enterprises. The prominent search field is also striking. This makes it much easier to find terms than before.

Conceptually, the content is now grouped together by topic. Suitable information can be found on various individual portals such as Town Hall or Mobility. Many topic portals can already be accessed via jena.de. The content will be added to in the coming weeks. There are currently around ten more portals in the works.

The scope of this major project is also based on the conversion of the editorial system in the background. The choice fell on Drupal, a free open source software that is constantly being developed and kept up to date. The security aspect also plays a decisive role here.

The changeover may initially lead to errors. The editors-in-chief ask for your understanding. The city of Jena welcomes feedback in order to further optimize the pages. The comment functions or the contact form on the new pages have been set up for this purpose.
