Spotlight on Fair Fashion: Get Involved, Swap, and Consume More Consciously

14.08.2026

Where do our clothes come from—and under what conditions are they made?

These questions are the focus of the event “Fair Fashion—Join In!”, which the City of Jena, in collaboration with the Eine-Welt-Netzwerk Thüringen e. V. and UmsonstHaus Jena (MobB e. V.), is hosting on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Stadtlab Jena. From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., participants can look forward to an interactive afternoon focused on sustainability and fair trade in the global textile industry.

Through short presentations, discussion rounds, and hands-on activities, interested participants will gain insights into the social and environmental challenges of global fashion production. At the same time, the event will highlight ways in which each and every individual can contribute to fairer and more resource-efficient consumption. The goal of the event is to work together to develop ideas for a more mindful approach to clothing.

Clothing Giveaway

A special highlight of the event is the clothing giveaway organized by UmsonstHaus Jena. Here, well-preserved clothing items can become your new favorites—true to the motto “Give instead of buying.” This gives clothing a second life while also sending a visible message of sustainability and conscious consumption. A selection of clothing for adults and children will be available for you.

  • When? Friday, August 21, 2026, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Where? Stadtlab Jena, Markt 1, 07743 Jena
