Fire Department Response at the Citizen Services Office

On Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a technical device triggered a gas alarm in a separate room of the underground parking garage beneath the Jena City Citizen Service Center and the Ernst Abbe Library. The Jena Fire Department subsequently inspected the building. No immediate danger was identified. 

Since the cause of the alarm is still unclear, the underground parking garage remains temporarily closed for safety reasons. The relevant technical systems are now being inspected. Once the cause has been determined and safety has been ensured, the closure will be lifted.
