First basic training course for the fire department in Jena
The course takes place in Jena for the first time. Over the next 6 months, the foundations will be laid for the young men's future careers. Depending on their previous training, this can lead to the rank of candidate fire chief or candidate fire inspector. The grades are in the middle and senior ranks of the fire department.
The course focuses on the basic activities of the firefighter in action, such as preparing a firefighting attack and setting up a stable water supply. Other areas are also trained: Deployment under heavy breathing protection, deployment with hazardous materials or lifeguard training. Scientific training and the basics of administrative law are also taught.
Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche, Head of Department Benjamin Koppe, Fire Service Chiefs Peter Schörnig and Ralf Hertig expressed their delight at the training of the 16 men in Jena. Jena has excellent training conditions - and the upgrading of the southern fire station will make them even better.
