Carsten Müller Will Remain Director of JenaKultur

Carsten Müller will not assume the planned position of Administrative Director of the German Optical Museum Foundation (D.O.M.) and will remain a member of the executive board of JenaKultur. 

Müller had been asked to contribute his many years of leadership and management experience to the further development of the D.O.M. during the challenging period leading up to the museum’s opening. Taking on such a responsible role requires a resilient and trusting collaboration within the leadership team. Carsten Müller no longer considers this prerequisite to be met and has informed the D.O.M.’s governing bodies accordingly.

“I deeply regret this development. With his experience, Carsten Müller could have made a significant contribution to the D.O.M. However, I respect his decision and am also pleased that he will remain with JenaKultur and the City of Jena as an experienced leader. Especially in light of the major challenges facing the city’s budget, his financial expertise and his ability to responsibly manage complex structures will be particularly important for JenaKultur.”
