Eichplatz: Search for investors for construction site A still on track

The six investors who qualified for the next phase of the process (bidding phase) in the selection process in July 2018 were given the opportunity to submit initial bids with architectural concepts for the development of construction site A by October 2018. The architectural concepts were assessed both by the citizens' workshop (consisting of citizens of the city, representatives of the citizens' initiative and the city council, the city manager of the city center initiative and employees of the city administration) and by the architectural committee. The investors were then given the opportunity to revise or adapt their architectural concepts and submit optimized bids by the end of February 2019.

At the beginning of April 2019, citizens and the architecture committee evaluated the conceptual developments at what is now the 30th event. The other bid components (e.g. realization concepts, usage and communication concepts) are currently being examined and evaluated using the evaluation matrix defined at the start of the process.

Once all criteria have been evaluated, negotiations on the purchase agreement with the two top bidders will begin in summer 2019. The clear aim is to have found an investor for construction site A by the end of 2019/beginning of 2020.
