The roadworks report for the 18th calendar week of 2019 - detours are signposted, pedestrians pass the roadworks.

  • Bachstraße
    The construction work on house no. 15 is finished
  • Leutra

  • Complete closure of the bridge in Carl-Zeiss-Promenade (26.04.2019, from 08:00, until probably 27.04.2019)

    From 26.04.2019, 08:00 a.m., the full closure of the bridge in Carl-Zeiss-Promenade will begin due to testing work on the actual bridge load-bearing capacity. These bridge loading measures will be carried out with heavy equipment by the KSJ during this period.
    Traffic heading towards the city center will be diverted from Carl-Zeiss-Promenade - immediately before the bridge - to the left into Moritz-von-Rohr-Straße and Lichtenhainer Straße and then back onto Tatzendpromenade.

    Out of town, traffic will be diverted from Carl-Zeiss-Pomenade to the right via Firmenstraße der Carl Zeiss AG, continuing onto Moritz-von-Rohr-Straße and then back onto Carl-Zeiss-Promenade in the direction of H.-Löns-Straße. The detour will be signposted.
    Unfortunately, the detour route leads through another construction site, which is regulated by a construction site traffic light in Carl-Zeiss-Promenade - Lichtenhainer Oberweg. The current switching program for this construction site cannot be changed in the short term and will remain unchanged for the new bridge load capacity tests.

    The lifting of the full closure will depend on the results of the test engineer and could also end on Friday in the evening if everything goes well. If conditions are poor, 27.04.2019 could be used until the work is completed.

  • Half-sided closure of Lutherstraße 191
    For the renovation of a house connection line, Lutherstraße will be closed on one side in the area of no. 191 from 29.04.2019 to 03.05.2019. A detour is not necessary.
  • Half-side closure of Lutherstraße 171 to 179
    The Stadtwerke construction project to replace the wastewater pipe, which has already begun at Lutherstraße 171 to 179, will be carried out in two construction sections of around 50 m each. The work is scheduled to last until the end of May 2019. There will be no detour.
  • Complete closure of Rautalstraße - changed detour
    Since 25.03.2019, Rautalstraße between Kuithanstraße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße has been closed to vehicle traffic. The detour was made via Kuithanstraße, Zitzmann-Straße, Straße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße or G.-Neumann-Straße.

    From 25.04.2019 to 29.05.2019, the Rautal area between Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße and Jägerbergstraße will also be closed and traffic will be diverted via Closewitzer Straße.
  • Closure of Jahnplatz
    From 30.04.2019 to 02.05.02019, Jahnplatz will be completely closed to vehicle traffic due to an event on May 1st.
  • Full closure of Sophienstraße
    On 01.05.2019 between 08:00 and 19:00, a street festival will take place in Sophienstraße between K.-Kollwitz-Straße and Th.-Neubauer Straße. The street will be closed in the event area.
  • Full closure of Bachstraße
    On 01.05.2019 between 07:00 and 15:00, Bachstraße will be closed to vehicle traffic in the Johannisplatz area due to an event. Bachstraße can only be accessed from the direction of Quergasse as a dead end without a turning point.
  • Full closure of Karl-Liebknecht-Straße
    Stadtwerke will be laying a new combined sewer in the area between Brändströmstraße and Pestalozzistraße until around 31.05.2019. During this time, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße will be completely closed to vehicle traffic in the construction site area.

    Traffic will be diverted in both directions via Jenzigweg and Wiesenstraße to the Anger junction. The traffic light control at the Anger junction is to be optimized. However, residents can also bypass the roadworks via Am Steinborn and Löbichauer Straße. Temporary stopping restrictions will be put in place along this route to help traffic flow

  • Closure of Naumburger Straße / Rautal
    The Naumburger Straße / Am Steinbach junction is fully closed. The large-scale detour is via Brückenstraße - Wiesenstraße - Am Anger and back.

    Despite the barriers in Brückenstraße: Please do not attempt to drive through the residential area! Public and school buses drive through the small streets. "Creeping traffic" would massively obstruct local traffic there. In addition, the sidewalks are partially separated from the carriageway - the safety of school routes has top priority.

    We would like to thank all considerate drivers!

    Another note for pedestrians and cyclists: The sidewalks in the area of the entire construction site can be used throughout this year.

  • Complete closure of Lichtenhainer Oberweg between the Carl-Zeiss-Promenade junction and the junction with Döbereinerstrasse
    A full road closure will be implemented in the above-mentioned area from 01.04.2019 to 28.06.2019. During the closure period, traffic will be diverted via the adjacent streets Phillip-Müller-Straße; Döbereinerstraße; Friedrich-Körner-Straße. The detour is signposted.

  • Construction work on Camburger Straße
    The construction work started in 2018 to lay drinking water pipes in Camburger Straße is now continuing and is scheduled to last until the end of June. During the construction period, road traffic in the direction of the city center will remain on Camburger Straße. As last year, northbound traffic will be routed back to Camburger Straße via Spitzweidenweg and Scharnhorststraße.

  • Complete closure of Schillstraße 1
    Schillstraße will be closed from 08.04.2019 to 31.05.2019 because the sewer and house connections have to be renewed in this area. Road traffic will be diverted locally and the detour will be signposted.

  • Moritz- von Rohr-Straße
    Repair work is required on the district heating pipe at the junction of Moritz-von-Rohr-Straße and Lichtenhainer Straße. The road will be closed on one side from 04.04.2019 to 30.04.2019.

  • Am Steinborn 35
    In the area of Am Steinborn 35, there will be a half-sided road closure from 09.04.2019 to 18.04.2019. The narrowing is required as construction space for work on the drainage pipe.

  • Full closure of Mittelstraße
    From 08.04.2019 to 30.08.2019, the sewer will be renewed in Mittelstraße between Otto-Schott-Straße and Kronfeldstraße. This section of road will be completely closed to vehicle trafficfor the milling of the road surface . Afterwards, a section-by-section full closure in the immediate work area will be necessary. It is possible to drive around the construction site via the adjacent roads.

  • Narrowing of Am Eisenbahndamm road
    In the period from 25.03.2019 to 26.07.2019, a drinking water pipeline will be laid through the railroad embankment between Landveste and Straße am Eisenbahndamm on behalf of the municipal utilities. During this construction work, the cycle/walking path will be closed in the area of the construction site at Landveste and rerouted in the area of Landveste. There will also be a temporary narrowing in the area of Am Eisenbahndamm, especially at off-peak times, as one of the two left-turn lanes in the direction of Paradiesbrücke (Stadtrodaer Straße) will have to be shortened slightly.
  • Traffic obstructions at the Mühlenstraße / Hermann-Löns-Straße junction
    Construction work has currently begun in the intersection area and will continue until 26.04.2019. During the construction work in the intersection area, electrical cables will be laid in the sidewalk area of the intersection. During the work, traffic will have to be controlled by traffic lights. This will result in traffic obstructions on Hermann-Löns-Straße.
  • Complete closure of Rautalstraße
    From 25.03.2019, Rautalstraße between Kuithanstraße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic. The detour will be via Kuithanstraße, Zitzmann-Straße, Straße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße or G.-Neumann-Straße. The closure is expected to last until mid-May 2019. After that, the Rautal area between Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße and Jägerbergstraße will be closed and traffic will be diverted via Closewitzer Straße. This section is scheduled to be reopened to traffic on 05.07.2019.
    During the closure period, a new drinking water pipe will be laid in Rautal.
    In the fall of this year, this new drinking water pipeline is to be laid further along the Rautal to the end of Jena in the direction of Closewitz.
  • Maria-Pawlowna-Straße
    In the period from 11.03.2019 to 07.06.2019, the road will be closed to vehicle traffic due to construction work on the district heating pipeline. Traffic between Naumburger Straße and Schreckenbachweg or Am Rosenhang will be diverted in both directions via Flurweg.
  • Max-Wien-Platz
    The property at Philosophenweg 26 is being built on. For this reason, traffic space restrictions are necessary in the area of the junction between Kritzegraben and Philosophenweg. In order not to divert traffic, a traffic light system will regulate traffic at this junction. The traffic restriction will end in the middle of 2019
  • Closure of Marktstraße in Lobeda-Altstadt
    Construction work for the further expansion of Marktstraße between Marktplatz and Nikolaus-Theiner-Straße and further via Lobdeburgweg between Stadtgraben and Spitzbergstraße until 27.09.2019 - road closures in sections.
  • Beutnitzer Straße 1
    Beutnitzer Straße in Wenigenjena will be closed to through traffic from 23.04.2019 to 26.04.2019. The road will be a dead end for vehicles during the construction period.
  • Complete closure of Saarbrücker Straße 28
    From 23.04.2019 to 29.04.2019, Saarbrücker Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic at no. 28. Saarbrücker Straße can only be accessed from the direction of St.-Wendel-Stieg as well as from the direction of Völklinger Stieg as a dead end without the possibility of turning.
  • Road closure Stifterstraße
    Due to the laying of a new drinking water pipe, Stifterstraße will be closed to vehicle traffic from 23.04.2019 to 31.07.2019. The construction work will be carried out in two phases in order to minimize traffic disruptions for residents.
  • Jena Spring Market
    Due to the Jena Spring Market, the town hall parking lot and Eichplatz will be closed for parking from May 6, 2019 to May 20, 2019. The e-charging station on Eichplatz can still be used. Access is from Kollegiengasse. During the Jena Spring Market, the delivery time for the Altstadt pedestrian zone will be limited to the time between 06:00 and 12:00.
